Automatic import after email sync

If you have just connected your email account, Klipy automatically starts importing contacts from your last 3 months of email conversations. You don’t need to take any additional steps for this initial import.

To import contacts from a different time period or source, continue reading this guide.

Before you start

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • Connected your main business email account with Klipy
  • Choose your import source:
    • Email conversations: Import contacts from your recent email conversations (Recommended)
    • Saved contacts: Import contacts from your saved contacts or address book

Step 1: Navigate to import page

Go to People or Companies page, and click Import / Export at the top right corner.

Step 2: Select your preferred import source

Click Import button next to the source you want to use.

Step 3: Select your preferred import range

Depending on the subscription tier you have, you will see different import range options.

Select the range you want to import, then click Continue.

What happens during import

You will be shown the import in progress UI while:

Import conversations

Klipy imports the recent email conversations from your connected email account, ignoring ones that are in Spam or Trash folders.

Save people in conversations

It then finds people in the conversations, creating a Person record with the email and name.

Detect and save people's company

Next, Klipy finds the contact’s company using their email address domain. If we don’t have it already saved, we will create a new Company record and automatically enrich all available information about the company.

Summarize and log important conversations

Finally, Klipy uses Mailroom to log interaction summary if the conversation was important. This automatically updates the last interaction statuses of the new records.

What happens next?

You can check the People page or Companies page to see your newly imported records.

All records will be automatically enriched with available information
